It's a good analogy, it really is.
When you're a smoker, you never really look at it with a clear head.
That would be too devastating.

I will be clean for four years next month. I know that I can never have even one smoke or I will start again. I loved smoking. The way I make it through each day/month/year is by telling myself that when I am diagnosed with a terminal illness I will start smoking immediately. If I am hit by a bus I will be pissed.
